What is an Ecosystem?

A critical component of NJSPN’s efforts was to develop, implement, and cultivate STEM Learning Ecosystems in New Jersey. Each New Jersey STEM ecosystem brings together formal and informal learning in a community or region, through the collaboration of organizations, institutions and businesses.

Ecosystems are best practice

    • The New Jersey ecosystems are part of a larger international ecosystem network, the STEM Learning Ecosystem International Community of Practice.
    • Dec 2018 White House OSTP report lists ecosystems as best practice
    • Result of all states participation in strategic plan for STEM education
    • New Jersey is currently home to seven STEM Learning Ecosystems, located across the state, from Atlantic County up to Bergen County.
