WHAT IS AMPLIFY mCLASS?

mCLASS is a program that assesses students foundational reading skills. These skills include:

  • Letter Names and Sounds
  • Phonological Awareness
  • Single Word Recognition
  • Sentence Reading Efficiency and Vocabulary.

WHY DO SCHOOL DISTRICTS USE AMPLIFY?

Within thirty minutes, districts can get a comprehensive profile of strengths and weaknesses in decoding skills. It is actionable data that can be used to develop targeted interventions.

WHAT CAN MY KIDS EXPECT DURING AMPLIFY?

During AMPLIFY assessments, your child’s teacher will administer the exam and receive instant digital scoring that provides actionable insights immediately. The teacher will have a laptop or an iPAD and the student will have a printed page of the assessment materials.

OPT-OUT INFORMATION

By participating in AMPLIFY mCLASS assessments, you will have information about your child’s reading development. The goal is to improve educational practices and support for diverse learners, including those with reading difficulties such as dyslexia.

  • If you do not wish for your child to participate in the screener please complete the Parent Opt Out Form provided by your child’s school.

ROAR is an online program that assesses students foundational reading skills. These skills include:

WHAT CAN MY KIDS EXPECT DURING ROAR?

During ROAR assessments, your child will use a computer, laptop, or iPAD with headphones to complete the online activities. Each activity lasts anywhere from three to fifteen minutes, and the key assessment can be completed in under 30 minutes. The assessment will be given once a year.

PRIVACY, SECURITY, AND OPT-OUTS

By participating in ROAR assessments, you contribute to ongoing research that aims to improve educational practices and support for diverse learners, including those with reading difficulties such as dyslexia.

  • ROAR prioritizes the privacy and security of student data. Names and other identifying details are removed from the data
  • If you do not wish for Stanford to use or store your child’s data for research, you can complete the Parent Opt Out Form provided by your child’s school.
