INTRODUCTION
PROBLEM IDENTIFIED
This procedure involve nurses in preparing the items. The problem identified related to CVL insertion procedure are difficulty nurses in preparing items for CVL insertion procedure due to not familiarize the items which can cause high number of complaint regarding procedural mistake and delayed especially in novices.
CENTRAL VENOUS LINE
Placement of a catheter such that the catheter is inserted into a venous great vessel. The venous great vessel include the superior vena cava, inferior vena cava, brachiocephalic veins, internal jugular veins, subclavian veins, iliac veins and common femoral veins
(American society of anesthesiologist,2012)
PURPOSE
Drug infusion, fluid resuscitation or emergency venous access.
KEY MEASURE FOR IMPROVEMENT
ZERO COMPLAINT FROM CONSULTANT,STAFF NURSE AND PATIENTS
ZERO INCIDENT DURING PERFORMING PROCEDURE
STAFF TO GAIN 90% HIGH CONFIDENCE AND INCREASE EFFECIENCY DURING CVL KIT INSERTION PROCEDURE
Factors that cause complaints from staff, consultants and anaesthetists were derived and CVL Kit is implemented.
Feedback and Observational study conducted at Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital (APSH)
Purposive sampling method was used to select the samples.
A sample of Questionnaire was distributed to ICU staffs of KPJ Ampang
Awareness and training given to staff nurse.
Post implementation data was collected and analyzed to evaluate effectiveness.

ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION
Percentage of Staff Satisfaction Towards their Own Performance
Post implementation data shows 27 (91%) of the participants are satisfied
with their own performance in preparing the items compared to
pre implementation which is only 63%.
Percentage of Staffs' Confidence Level in Preparing CVL Equipment
24 (80%) of the participants have high confident in preparing the items during post implementation of the CVL kits compared to before which is 53%.
STRATEGIES FOR CHANGE
All the CVL items are place in the kit accordingly.
CVL kit has been standardize in SOP applied in ICU departments in KPJ Ampang to upgrade the nursing care for patients in improving service deliver to clients.
Monthly training and continuous medical education also been conducted.

The result shows that post implementation of CVL kit, there is no recorded incident or complaint about incomplete or problems raised
during preparing procedure.
Post data also showed an increasing number 30 (92%) staff gain
high confident level in preparing the items.
