Community Extensions
From the user survey:- Lots of interest and 90 ideas of extensions that people would use- People interested to help create extensions if no code is needed:“I don't know if I would be able, but let's talk about It!”“Yes, if possible with a predefined set of conditions and actions so no programming skills are required.”
Community Extensions features
How extensions could be created
For the first iteration of extensions, we could create:
Sample folders / files structure for an extension on a new community-extensions GitHub repo

Knowledge app - Values and Impact
Impact: furthering transparency on Open Food Facts by shining light on an opaque ecosystem of food labels, additives & allergens.
Hopefully producers & public authorities will pay attention too ;)
Through added knowledge, consumers will have better understanding the food system as a whole.
🔦
Social App
Feature retained: possibility to make one’s List(s) public or shareable at least & also adding products to “My Favorites”.

Social App: results
Less that ⅓ show interest in this feature (but it’s to be noted that ⅓ of the respondents age is 50+ which could affect this view)
(Even less interest in the French survey: 63% not at all interested)
A bit more interest in the List feature with 34% who are keen on it. However, the majority are not into it.
Social App: results
A bit less than ⅓ of respondents would be interested in a Chat feature within the app. It may be that although people like the collaborative nature of the project, they don’t necessarily feel the desire to connect with the other members.

Poll
Open Food Facts for family, groups, and professionals
Eating is a necessity for every individual, but often this activity is eminently social: as a family, with friends or colleagues, accompanied by professionals, or as part of communities of interest (orphan diseases, fans, taster communities, solidarity grocery shops, etc.), we have to select products, buy them, check their stock, sometimes recommend them, and so on.
