�Key Times

  • Arrival: 8:30am - 8:35am at the double doors by office.
  • Playtime: 10:00am – 10:15am
          • Bring a small healthy snack i.e. fruit
  • Lunch time: 11:45am – 12:30pm
          • Packed lunches – NO NUTS
  • Finish: 2:50pm - children to walk up the drive to meet parents or have permission to walk home

Uniform

  • All black school shoes
  • Plain grey trousers, shorts, skirts or pinafore dress.
  • White or grey socks.
  • Plain hair accessories (green, yellow, white or black)
      • No jewellery (except small stud earrings).
      • No wristbands / festival bands.
      • No nail varnish.
  • Please LABEL EVERYTHING!

Equipment Needed

  • Water bottles
  • Reading books
  • A piece of fruit for break
  • Appropriate clothing for weather.

Key Days

PE for Year 6 is on Wednesdays and Thursdays (swimming until Thursday 1st December 2022)

  • PE kits are to be worn to school on these days.

PE Kit:

  • School PE shirt or sweatshirt with their PE shorts, skort or tracksuit bottoms and plain black trainers.
  • Earrings need to be removed by yourself or the child OR they should be covered with tape.

  • Each afternoon in key stage 2 we have subject specialists teaching the children. The teachers are:

  • Geography - Mrs Gregory
  • Music - Mrs McQueen
  • Computing - Mr Berryman
  • Design Technology - Mr Dickinson
  • PE- Mr Lines/Mr Strickland/Miss Shaw
  • PSHE - Class teacher

Homework & Spelling

  • Times Table Rock Stars (if your children would like to play this at home they can, however this will not be set as homework)

  • All homework is set online and is used to inform teaching and learning during the next week. Completed homework will be recorded and children that have not completed it will have to stay after school to do this.
  • Spelling Shed (Friday to Friday)
  • Eedi (2 tests per week)

Assessment

  • Class Track – used to monitor progress in every lesson. This will be used to inform you at parents’ meetings of how your child is getting on.

  • Individual parent meetings to be held in November & February.

  • We will be doing previous SATs papers throughout the year to help us assess where the children are in terms of their understanding of the Year 6 curriculum. Please do not do old SATs papers at home.

Enrichment

Clubs are in the process of being organised and offered after half term.

The clubs will run from 2:50-4:00pm. Most clubs will be £2.00 per child, per week. A letter will be out in due course.
