Publish iMovie to Google Drive

Beginner Level

In this Tech Tip you will learn how to use Google Drive to publish iMovie videos to the web. From Google Drive, your students will be able to share their projects safely and without the complexity of managing a YouTube account. Through Drive, students can have access their video projects, hand them into Google Classroom or use them as part additional Apps.

Share the Project

  1. When you are ready to publish your iMovie Project, go to the Projects Window, locate the project, and tap the “share icon.”

Copy to Drive

  • Choose “Copy to Drive” from the share menu.
  • Note: Make sure the student is logged into their Learn34 Google account.

Rename and Move

  • Locate the uploaded video. Right-click and rename it to make it easier to identify later.
  • You may also want to move the video into another folder

Open up Sharing

  • Select the video file and click on the Share Icon in the toolbar.
  • Click on Advanced
  • Click on Change…
  • Change the sharing level to On- Anyone with a link
  • Share the link with your audience.
