Weeklies

WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT LISTS

Each week, students receive a “Weekly” Checklist of assignments worth 10 points representing 5-10 hours worth of work, half of which should be completed in class time, half of which should be done as homework.

Click here for a sample weekly

Students must submit the Weekly honorably by 8 am the following week.

This is where the learning happens and everything a student needs to know is on the weekly, even if they can’t make class

Weeklies

WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT LISTS

Assignments including attending and participating in class assignments, completing

Khan academy exercises, digital worksheets, Desmos activities, watching videos through EdPuzzle or MyAP and a reflection on learning

Computer Science students complete most of their work in CodeHS

Textbooks

Because we are online, textbooks aren’t that critical

  • There is digital textbook access as well

Precalculus students have answers to all Textbook Problems online in OneNote and should do as much work as they can from their book for extra practice. We usually assign a few problems each week. They can and should write all over their books each week.

Stats students need to read the book to get a deeper understanding and reading is assigned each week

Calc students should use their text as an additional tool

No Comp Sci Book but links are posted online to dgital texts

Assessment

Quizzes and Tests

Precalc students cover 1 Springboard Textbook Activity per week and take a 20 point quiz each week

Additionally, they do tasks every 3 activities worth 40 points and Unit tests each grading period.

AP Calc, Stats and Comp Sci Students take quizzes every 2-3 weeks worth 20 points, as well as 100 point Unit Tests each grading period

There will be two projects each semester for each class.

The Most Important Grades are the FINAL EXAM in December and June [May for AP]

Grades

Grades are point based and maintained in Schoology

  • 87.5% of points = Mastery A
  • 77.5% of points = proficiency B
  • 65% of points = basic understanding C,
  • 50% of points = below basic understanding, but passing, D

Assessments measure understanding and have higher point value. Students must take off points for late Weeklies. Quizzes are formative and students get multiple chances. Only one change for major tests. They must be prepared.

MYAP and MYLAB

AP Students should take advantage of all of the resources at

Myap.collegeboard.ord

Including Videos for every lesson in the course outline and practice test materials.

Stats and Calc Students can also practice additional problems from MyLab which is in Schoology

CodeHS

AP Computer Science students need to work their way through the Codehs.com curriculum and turn lessons and activities green. We aim to get 100% in each unit and are in Unit 2

Supporting the Student

Schoology:

    • Please check schoology daily
    • If you don’t have a parent account, log in as using your son/daughter account on your phone
    • Communicate with teacher
  • Make sure students is logging in to all zoom sessions

There is ALWAYS homework. Even if students complete graded assignments, they can LEVEL up on IXL or practice more from their Textbooks and do Khan academy mastery challenges. If a student is doing well, they don’t need to practice as much, but if they are struggling, they need to work more.
