Forces, Space & Stars!
forces in nature!
01
question: what are forces?
main types of forces in nature
newton’s third law of motion
when a force is applied to an object, a force in the same strength will act in the opposite direction
how do planes, rockets and birds fly?

Lift
Drag
Thrust
Weight
Mass versus Weight
03
Mass VS Weight
MASS
WEIGHT
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MASS AND WEIGHT
Weight (N) = Mass (kg) x Gravitational field strength (N/kg)
10 N/kg
1.6 N/kg
Mass will always remain constant while gravitational field strength varies on different planets
For example, if your mass is 40kg, your mass on the moon is the same as your mass on earth – 40kg.
But your weight on Earth is 40kg x 10 N/kg = 400N, while your weight on the moon is 40kg x 1.6 N/kg = 64N
