History and Discovery

  • Tiny Fraggle Syndrome was discovered to be a genetic mutation of the gene for bone length in Fraggles by Dr. Liza DerWoo in 1975
  • The mutation is on chromosome 4 in Fraggles
  • The gene is called B52B51

Information about this mutation

  • The gene for bone length, B52B51, results in most Fraggles growing to an adult height of between 3-4.5 feet.
  • This mutation of B52B51, called Tiny Fraggle Syndrome, results in a maximum adult Fraggle height of only 1.5 feet
  • Only about 10% of the Fraggle population have this genetic mutation
  • Many of these Fraggles wear hard hats at all times in case a taller Fraggle accidentally drops something on their head. Other than that, these Fraggles have normal brain capacity and can live normal Fraggle lives.
