Who is Maestra Ramirez?been

This is my year 14 at Da Vinci, I have been with the district for 18 years. I am a native Spanish speaker, originally from Los Angeles. I Moved to Davis when I enrolled in UC Davis to do my undergrad in sociology and Spanish Literature.

Professionalism

• Students show the ability to submit complete and timely homework/work that meets the expectations of academic and professional settings.

Curricular Literacy

• You can expect one written assessment per unit (vocab or grammar quiz). Tests will be announced in advanced, and we will review for them as well.

WRITTEN COMMUNICATION ANY SHORT-WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT WILL BE CONNECTED TO THE CONTENT IN THE UNIT. THERE IS ONE ESSAY IN SEMESTER 2.�

Learning Mindset

• In Spanish IV class you will be expected to do group, partner and sometimes single work. Classwork is collected at the end of the Unit.

Oral communication

• Students will have informal and/or formal oral presentation in class. These presentations include, but are not limited to, interviews, debates, speeches, storytelling, simulated phone conversations, etc.

LATE/MAKE UP WORK:

• Assignments or exams missed because of EXCUSED absences are to be made up with one week of the student’s return to class. Late work will receive a 40%. Also, any test or culminating assignment NOT made up on time will be recorded as a ZERO in the gradebook.
