Your reasons to go to school

It is true to say that without being educated it is difficult to achieve good job or succeed in life. There is no doubt, that school is our second home. We spend a lot of time studying and communicating with our friends and teachers at school.

I think that the main reason to go to school is getting knowledge in different subjects. School makes pupils clever and well-educated. It also helps young people to choose their future career and to prepare for their future life. Besides, the pupils have the opportunities to develop their skills in different fields. For example, they can take part in musical concerts or sport competitions. What is more, school is a place, where we learn how to get on with different people, create and develop our relationship, make new friends. It is a place, where we are taught to be tolerant to people with other interests and opinions and respect each other.

To sum up, knowledge is a power and if you are a well- educated person you can generally achieve any desired goal in your life.

OUR SCHOOL

My SchoolI go to school number 548 with in-depth study of English. My school is a three-floored redbrick building with a courtyard.Classrooms My school has both small and big classrooms. The large classrooms are computer ones which are used for IT lessons, gymnasiums for sports, special classrooms for Biology, Chemistry and Physics and classrooms for Primary school pupils. There are also small group classrooms where students learn in groups of about 10 or less. They are usually used for English lessons. Most classrooms have a large writing surface where the teacher or students can share notes with other members of the class. Traditionally, this is in the form of a blackboard but we also have whiteboards and interactive whiteboards. Many classrooms also have TVs, maps, charts, books and LCD projectors for presenting information and images from a computer.

Different school subjects and your favourite ones

According to the curriculum, school gives us both academic subjects and practical skills. We study Maths, Literature, Russian, Science, History and Biology. Our school is specialized in English and we have 5 lessons a week and one additional English lesson to develop our exams skills.

I realise that all subjects are important and each demands a great deal of attention but still I don’t like (the exact subjects точные науки) because…(2 причины)

Most of all I like… because….(либо 2 причины либо еще 1 любимый предмет предмет с причиной)

School Uniform

There are two viewpoints on school uniforms.

On the one hand, some people think that it is unnecessary to wear a school uniform for various reasons.

On the other hand, there are some benefits (= advantages) of wearing a school uniform. Watch the next slide for arguments!

In my opinion, it is necessary to wear a school uniform , because it influences our studies and behavior at school.

or Personally I am against wearing any school uniform . It restricts my freedom of choice and doesn’t reflect my mood.

Advantages

Disadvantages

School uniforms organize students. They concentrate more on their studies. They are not distracted from their learning process and perform (study) better. Besides, uniforms improve a child’s school discipline.

School uniform doesn’t allow children to express their individuality. Boys and girls have to wear the same design and colour suits. Children look consistently. It is rather boring.

School uniform makes children with different social status equal and tolerant with each other.

Students don’t get an opportunity to choose their own dress style and combine clothes. They are not allowed to show their taste in fashion.

Uniforms help build a school spirit or a sense of belonging. Uniforms unite schoolchildren and make them feel proud of being a part of their school.

Some parents consider that it’s better to buy a school uniform instead of spending money on fashionable and expensive clothes.

What you would like to change in your school life

There are some things I'd like to be changed in my school.

I'd like our school to have more after classes activities, for example, a chess club, dancing clubs, different sports clubs. It's great to have such facilities as a swimming pool, science laboratories, a bigger library with popular books not only for Literature lessons. These changes will make spending time at school more interesting.

I'd also like our school to have a special uniform with badges. This will make pupils feel proud of studying at the school.

All in all, some changes should be made so that children would be involved in the school community and like going to school.

What you would like to change in your school life

Now I`m going to tell you about some things which I`d like to change in my school.

First of all, there wouldn't be a lot of students at classes, so the teachers would pay more attention to each pupil.

There would be some new elective subjects, for example, driving lessons, cookery or technology.

In addition, there would be many after-school activities, such as chess club, drama club, photography and sports. Besides, I want my school to have science laboratories to do some experiments during Physics and Chemistry lessons. It will be great if we have a swimming pool and the second stadium. Pupils will have the opportunity to do more sports and keep fit every day.

To sum up, all these changes would help students to spend time at school more interesting and make their education more effective.

There are different types of exchange student programmes existing in the world.

These exchange programmes are not only based on academic or formal work in the school curriculum. Social and sports exchange programmes are also in place in many schools. Cultural activities based on performing arts are also very popular exchange programmes in place.

As an example' if one school is popular for volleyball and another school is popular for dancing' the two schools can come up with an agreement to exchange students between these two schools for an agreed period' by the school authorities. The programme would consist of training and exchanging skills between two schools.

International student programmes are also very popular. Students between many nations and continents can travel to other far off countries and learn about their educational methods' cultural practices and gain a vast area of knowledge' and bring it to their own country. By this method education systems' can be exchanged from one country to another. This is a very successful way of learning while traveling other parts of the world.

Sports are very popular among exchange programmes. Students can learn the language too' during these travels. Activities could be trained in different ways and methods in other countries. These different methods could be more effective and time and energy saving.

In conclusion' this is a good exchanging or learning method. Children are at a stage where they can learn enthusiastically and can absorb new things without any difficulty. They are in an age with inquiring minds.
