IA JSC Governing Options

Option 1: 5 Member Governing Body---

Superintendents

  • Comprised of a Superintendent (or designee) from each fiscal agent (are permanent members subject to their separation of their employment with a fiscal agent and their appointment of a new representative of a duly adopted resolution of the Fiscal Agent’s Board of Education)
  • 2 additional at-large Superintendents (or designee) elected by majority vote of all participating districts (2-year term)
  • Fiscal agent Superintendents (or designee) shall create a ballot with the names of the Superintendents of the participating districts that wish to have representation on the Governing Body and disseminate ballot to participating districts Board of Education for a vote

Option 2: 5 Member Governing Body---Board Members

  • Five (5) member governing body consisting of duly elected or appointed members of the Boards of Education of Participating Districts
  • The governing body shall have the responsibility and authority to govern the Consortium in accordance with the provisions of the Agreement and all applicable laws.
  • All decisions shall be made by a majority vote

Option 3: As Presented by the IA Task Force

  • Establish a five (5) member Board of Education to assume governance of the school
  • Will be comprised of elected Board Members of the Consortium Boards of Education, elected by a majority of the Boards of all Consortium Districts and delegated the responsibility of governing the school

Option 4: As Presented by the IA Task Force

  • Continued delegation of governance to a JSC comprised of one administrator (Superintendent or their appointee) from each of the 13 Consortium Districts

Option 5: As Presented by the IA Task Force

  • Continued delegation of governance of the IA to the JSC; and the creation of a smaller JSC with no less than ____ (insert number) Superintendents elected by at least two-thirds (⅔) of the 13 Consortium Districts
