Snow Day

It’s a snow day!
The wind howls softly, and the world outside my window is blanketed in fluffy white snowflakes gently falling down.
My heart leaps with excitement!
School will be closed, and the day will be open for adventure!

Sometimes, I sleep in and arrive late to the breakfast table.
The sweet smell of cinnamon rolls fills the air; each bite melts in my mouth, warm and gooey, making me feel cozy inside.
After breakfast, I relax and enjoy my free time.

Sometimes, I get ready quickly to go outside to build a snowman. The snow is deep and cold and feels sticky on my mittens as I roll it into big balls.
My snowman has two grey eyes, an orange carrot nose, a black yarn smiley face, a black and red top hat, a red scarf, three green buttons, and two brown sticks for arms!

Sometimes, I call a friend to hang out and play games.
My favorite games to play are Uno and Sorry.
I love playing video games and would play them all day if my mom allowed me!

Sometimes, my family takes our big red sled to a snow-covered hill at our neighborhood park.
I love the sound of snow crunching beneath my boots as I pull my sled up, up, up the hill.
I hear kids laughing and feel the wind biting my cheeks as I point my sled downhill and zoom all the way down.

At the end of the day, I relax by the fire.
The crackling sounds of the burning logs fill the room as I sip my hot chocolate, feeling the warmth of the mug seep into my fingers. The rich, chocolatey liquid warms me from the inside as I relax and dream of another snow day tomorrow!
