Nailing it down: a working definition of Science Communications for this class

  • Science communications involves science-related topics and aims to inform audiences about scientific discoveries, knowledge, process, and more. This can be communicated through various different platforms including art, media, and conferences.
  • Science communication is when scientific ideas, discoveries, and products are presented to a specific audience with a predetermined purpose.
  • An interactive group of students collaborating to reach a scientific conclusion.
  • a way people share/present scientific products (like knowledge or data) to specific audiences using different forms of communication (ie. media, discussion, etc.)
  • The practice of making scientific discoveries accessible to other humans
  • using a variety of platforms to spread the different ideas of science, whether it be results, data, or otherwise, to targeted audiences

The practice of sharing scientific ideas and data using any available communication form or platforms, with comprehension as a critical end outcome.
