  • This presentation summarizes my prosocial behaviors and my experience on a specific October 3, 2021.

Beginning of Day Mood, Feelings and Attitude

  • I woke up late that morning because I had gone to bed late.
  • My body was trembling as fear took over my mood.
  • I was late for job and was afraid of the boss’ reaction for late reporting.
  • I just wore my attire and rushed out without even taking a shower.
  • I missed the bus and had to walk
  • The boss was very upset and dismissed me.
  • I was extremely emotional on my way home.

Prosocial Experiences Throughout the Day

  • On my way home, I came across an old woman crying.
  • The woman had been robbed, and was stranded not knowing where to start or end.
  • I quickly asked the lady to tell any kind of assistance she needed and I would help.
  • I gave her fare to take a bus home, and she greatly thanked me.
  • I proceeded home, feeling sympathetic and sorry for the woman.
  • Deep down, I was feeling happy for assisting the woman.

End of Day Mood, Feelings and Attitude

  • As I approached home, happy mood was quickly building in me.
  • The woman’s appreciation was flashing in my mind and I even forgot about my day’s bad experience.
  • By evening, I was in a calm and happy mood because I kept on recalling the woman’s blessings.
  • The happy feeling of assisting others overrode the earlier sad feeling.
  • My also developed a positive and determined attitude to wake up early for job the next day.

Prosocial Behaviors Throughout the Day Incorporated

  • On this day, I manifested prosocial behavior in various scenes.
  • I stopped to help the stranded woman who had been robbed of her belongings.
  • I comforted the woman when I found her crying, and calmed her down.
  • I volunteered my time and sympathized with the woman, thereby making her explain her problem.
  • I willingly gave the woman money to use for fare without expecting anything in return.

Conclusion

  • Prosocial behavior is characterized by sharing, helping and comforting others without expecting anything in return.
  • My sympathetic, comforting, sharing and willingness to share behaviors manifested prosocial behavior.
  • The change in my mood, feeling and attitude from fearful, frustrated and emotional to sympathetic, happy and determined helped me further understand prosocial behaviors in real life.
  • I learnt that prosocial behavior promote relationships.
  • I plan to maintain sympathetic and empathetic behaviors to boost my relationship with other in society.
