Achievement level | Descriptor |
0 | The student does not achieve a standard described by any of the descriptors below. |
1-2 | iii. presents a plan that is superficial or that is not focused on a product. |
3-4 | iii. presents a plan for achieving the product and some of its associated success criteria. |
5-6 | iii. presents a detailed plan for achieving the product and most of its associated success criteria. |
7-8 | iii. presents a detailed plan for achieving the product and all of its associated success criteria. |
What now?
You now need to create an action plan (Aiii) to achieve your chosen product. As you create their action plan, you will gain a sense of whether you can achieve the product within a reasonable time frame and you may revise your learning goal and/or product accordingly. Please have this discussion with your supervisor, if you are making changes and be ready to explain in detail why.
You are going to use your success criteria for you product (Aii) and determine the necessary steps or actions that will be required to meet those criteria. This will also establish evidence to support whether or not the goal was achieved in the report. (We haven’t done this yet)
The process of establishing an action plan to meet the success criteria is likely to require some research. Similarly, you may need to carry out research related to your learning goal, which could be included as part of their action plan.
If you haven’t done the success criteria yet (don’t worry we haven’t gone over it yet) don’t worry - do that later.

Aesthetics The story is clear and understandable to all by the end of the film. *What will it look like? | It is important that my animation has a story. I want to be sure that I can create an animation that is meaningful and has purpose. | I will measure this through a short survey that I will give to a test group of viewers. |
Aesthetics All of the drawings are of high visual quality, complete with shading and finer details. *What will it look like? | I want to be sure that my drawings are my best work, and that I include details (such as shading) that make them look realistic. | I will ask my Art teacher to assess my drawings prior to animation, based on criteria. |
Animation I will create two minutes of animation appropriate for a variety of audience. *Who is it for? | After my initial research, I was able to set realistic expectations for what I could create in my first attempt and within the recommended hours for the Personal Project. It seems that within my time frame, and with all the work that I have to do, two minutes will be challenging but achievable. | I will time myself while completing the first minute of animation to determine how challenging the process is and discuss it with my supervisor. |
Function Movement in the animation will be fluid and realistic *What will it do? | I want to make sure that my animation is more than stop-motion, so that I can prove to myself that I can move to the next level. I want my work to look polished, even though I am a beginner. | I will measure this through a short survey that I will give to a test group of viewers. |
