General Procedures:

Water & Restroom

  • Fill water bottle & use restroom during work time, not during lessons or presentations.
  • Bring agenda to me to initial when you need to go to the restroom. Remember, you have TWO passes for the whole day.
  • Only discrete gum chewing (I don’t want to see it or hear it.)

Retake Procedures

Quiz Retakes

          • If you score below “Proficient” on a quiz, please retake it on a different day.
          • Study the material then ask Mrs. Laffoon to reset the quiz.
          • Retake the test within a week of the original test.

General Procedures:

Zoom Etiquette (Snow Days)

  • Be on time to your meeting.
  • Mute your microphone when you are not speaking.
  • Position your camera properly so your face is visible (don’t sit in front of a window)
  • Limit distractions.
  • Avoid multitasking.

Why do we need rules?

  • We have rules for YOUR benefit.
  • Rules help provide peace, enjoyment, and learning rights for everyone in the class.
  • When people break rules, it is not fair to the others in the class.

Respect Everyone

  • Give attention to speaker
  • Follow directions
  • Don’t distract from learning

Rule #2

Respect Our Time

  • Be in your seat when the bell rings.
  • iPads closed and no earbuds when bell rings.
  • No interrupting or distracting.
  • No games or unrelated websites during class.
  • No phones during class. (Phones should be in locker)

Respect our materials

  • Come to class with iPad charged.
  • Tidy up area as you leave:
    • Push in chair
    • Pick up trash
    • Straighten desk

Learning Self-Control

Students who control themselves do not need help from teachers and parents to manage their behavior. Learn this quickly!

Warning - Recall the rules; get yourself back under control.

Safe Seat - Go to the designated seat. Pay attention to the lesson, but do not participate or distract in any way.

Learning Self-Control (cont.)

Buddy Room - Go do your work in another classroom’s SAFE SEAT. Do not participate or distract in any way. Process with Mrs. Laffoon before coming back to class the next day. Fill out a THINK SHEET.* Parents will be notified.

Recovery Room

Note: Before you can come back in our room, you must produce the completed Think Sheet and tell Mrs. Laffoon how things will be different.
