eSchool/Digital Academy

Spots in the Digital Academy class and in eSchool courses are not automatic. In-person learning is always the #1 option. eSchool courses are not available to replace in-person core content courses. There must be extenuating circumstances and special considerations before students can take an eSchool course. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Course recovery– If you failed a course in a previous year, you can complete the eSchool course over the summer or during the school year.
    • Summer school course sign-ups will be available after Spring Break.
  • Seniors at-risk– Seniors who are at risk of failing a course required for graduation may be pulled from their in-person class to complete the eSchool course. (Counselor meeting required)
  • Magnet/major requirements– If a needed/wanted course will not fit into your schedule due to a scheduling conflict with a magnet/major requirement, eSchool may be considered but is not guaranteed. (Counselor meeting required)

Scheduling Considerations

Students and their parents must assume responsibility for providing the school with a requested schedule designed to meet graduation requirements. Students are responsible for meeting with their counselor and making up requirements previously failed. All students are required to sign up for a full schedule (adjustments will be made during registration for UofL courses). Students received ½ credits for the successful completion of a class each semester.

2

Look for 8 courses and 3 alternates for your electives from the Course Listing. Record the course numbers– you will need them to request the courses in your student portal.

1

Review the Scheduling Guide for your magnet specific four-year plan.

5

You are expected to remain enrolled in your selected courses. Schedule changes can only be made within the first 10 days of the semester. (No teacher preference)

3

Select appropriately challenging courses–it is acceptable to take courses at different levels based on your interests and abilities.

4

Be sure to consider college admissions requirements and NCAA eligibility requirements. A general guide to pre-college curriculum can be found on the KHEAA website.

6

Add your 8 courses and 3 alternate course selections in your student portal. When you enter your alternate selections, put them in order of your preference.
