4-H Activity Story
In September, we attended the meeting and picked some of our projects we
were doing for the fair. In November we had the 4-H banquet for the
previous year. In December we had Bingo Night. In January and February
we didn’t so anything special. In April we had pizza night and made pizza.
We also helped set up chairs for Barron Electric. In May we served and
presented our demonstrations. We also helped out with roadside cleanup.
We missed June and July meetings.

I brought ingredients to make dog biscuits. At home I mixed up a
batch to show at the meeting. I brought the finished dog biscuits
and the ingredients to show at the demonstration. I didn’t mix them
up at the meeting, because they needed to be cooked.

4-H Project: Foods & Nutrition

Overall, I made 4 different projects for the Foods and Nutrition 2. First I
made Peanut Butter Cookies from my Grandma. I had never made this type
of cookies before, but they seemed easy. After that I mixed up some sugar
cookies from Betty Crocker. We would always make these cookies for
Christmas time, so it wasn’t that hard to mix them up and bake them. After
all the cookies were done, I made banana nut bread. The recipe was not
hard at all. I learned that it was easier to cook banana bread in smaller
loafs, instead of filling most of the tin. My last project was a Jewish
coffeecake. This recipe was pretty straight-forward. You pretty much just
mixed up everything with no big, important conditions.

Christine did such a great job in foods and nutrition this year. She did a lot of cooking with her grandma and at home. She takes her time and has learned a lot. We enjoy eating what she makes in our house!
