FREEDOM OF MAN
Sources of Freedom
1. Self-Determination – the ability or
power to make decisions for yourself;
the ability to become.
2. Exercise of Intellect – the process to
manifest man’s ideas and aspirations.
3. Free Will – the ability to decide what to
do independently of any outside
influence.
Kinds of Freedom
1. Physical Freedom – the absence of
any physical restraint.
2. Psychological Freedom – the freedom
of choice of a person to what he thinks
is right and wise.
3. Moral Freedom – the freedom in
manner that upholds human dignity
and goodness.
Elements of Freedom
1. Voluntariness
It refers to the ability of a person to act
out his free will and self-determination.
It means that a person may decide to
act or not to act based on his own free
will, or he may act even if he is not
required to take an action.
2. Responsibility
It refers to the person being
accountable for his action and
consequences.
As a free being, the person must
accept the consequences of his action
and take the responsibility of them.
Essentials of Freedom
1. Freedom gives us the choice to
undertake the best possible action that
we want to do.
2. Freedom requires a degree of control
from the person who exercises it.
