Grab a copy of the warm up doc, either from the website or make a copy from a math journal already in your google drive.

Answer the prompt:

What is an irrational number? How can I tell if a number is rational or irrational?

All asynchronous work from this week is due Monday 9/14

All old assignments can still be turned in without penalty.

(A)The Facilitator

The facilitator does the reading and keeps the group on tasks. The facilitator is an equal member of the group as they tend to be the most vocal of the group members. They make sure each group member has a chance to ask and answer questions.

(C)The Timekeeper

Time keeper monitors the time of the activity. Timekeeper is responsible for making sure all the components of the task get done in a timely manner. Timekeeper advocates for more/less time, help, and calls on the teacher as necessary. Timekeeper is an equal member of the group and contributes equally.

(B)The Tech Lead

The tech lead uses the share screen function to collaborate with the group. Tech lead makes sure everyone has access to documents, links, websites, and has access to the activity. Tech lead sends out any emails to group members and initiates study groups during asynchronous time. Tech lead is an equal member of the group

(D)The Record Keeper

Record keeper records the information of the activity while making sure everyone is understanding the activity. Record keeper shares the groups ideas with the class/in the chat/ or with the teacher. Record keeper is an equal member of the group.

Breakout Rooms

Working on a Shared Document

  • Add your group members names (first and last) downward
  • Use full names
  • Use the share function to share document with all group members
  • If I place someone in your group, you will be kind or your group will be disbanded
  • These groups are not permanent, participation determines how groups will be formed
  • Practice basic decency when working on a shared document
  • If someone else is typing in the box you are in, move to another box
  • Cameras and mics on
