I grew up fairly poor in a family of artists, on government assistance at times. I’m glad I did, because it gives me perspective. This is a picture of my immediate family (only hands showing). I want to provide everything that they need to have a fulfilling life. I’m middle class in the USA and while I struggle to understand how I will be able to afford my children’s college education. I don’t want to let them down. But being middle class in the USA puts me in the top 0.1% of income earners in the world, and that seems horribly unfair to those working so hard elsewhere to never be able to attain what I have. Making it possible for everyone that is connected to the Web to engage in education and the economy while trusting the information they are getting over the Web will help everyone else around the world achieve what we have. This is not a zero sum game, we can provide dignity and prosperity to many more people that we do today if we are successful.
