Restart your browser, and do not log-in to a personal Gmail account. Log-in to Google Docs for MSU at http://googleapps.msu.edu
Your Google Docs list displays.
Opt-in to Google Drive
Open a new tab. Visit http://drive.google.com/a/msu.edu. Click the button Get started with 5 GB free.

Then click the button Go to Google Drive.

Click the button that says Try Google Drive.

After you opt-in, you can switch back to the classic interface in the settings if you prefer. The classic interface may still be branded as "Drive" in some locations.
Download Google Drive Client for PC
Click the button that says Download Google Drive for PC. If the banner and button are missing, click the option to Download Google Drive in the left-hand menu.

Accept the terms. MSU users who log-in with NetID@msu.edu are subject to the terms MSU negotiated with Google Apps.

When the Security Warning displays, click Run.

After the program installs, enter your MSU email for the email address and leave the password blank. Click the Sign In button.

The MSU Login screen displays. Enter your password and click the Login button.

A welcome message displays. Click Next >

Click Advanced setup to specify a unique folder for MSU Google Apps that differs from a personal Google Drive accessed with a Gmail address.

When the Advanced Setup page displays, click Change... to create a new directory just for MSU Google Apps.

Click on your home folder (likely your name), and then click the Make New Folder button. Change the name of the new folder to MSUGoogleApps.

Verify that your folder location is correct. In this example, the name is sparty, so the location is:
Click Start sync and Google Drive will add a Google Drive folder into whatever folder you chose and begin to synchronize with your MSU Google Apps drive.

Your synced documents now appear in a folder. Google Drive runs in the system tray of your taskbar.

When browsing, Drive will look similar to your old docslist but with some new navigation features.

Google Drive with Multiple Accounts
Users are limited to signing in to one Google Drive account at a time.
Enable multiple sign-in or switch accounts.
