COURSE OVERVIEW

Welcome to the beginning of a journey learning to communicate, analyze, think critically and read/write at a higher level. AP English Language & Composition is a course designed to engage students in the process of strengthening reading, writing, communicating and analyzing skills as it relates to various works of non-fiction literature, reading, writing, collaboration and fun!

  • This course will challenge you to think critically, collaborate with others and be disciplined to complete a variety of reading/writing tasks on time.
  • You’ll be grouped together with others to discuss, analyze and write.
  • You will build a year-long portfolio to document your goals, development and work.
  • You are expected to be on time, attend class regularly and hold yourself to the standards expected of an advanced placement course.

What are we working toward all year?

Register in October

  • Taking and passing the AP test in May
  • Expectation is that students will be taking the test
  • All students will be held to the same standards regardless of whether or not they are taking the exam
