My Family

I am a wife and mother of three beautiful babies. My son is nine and my daughters are seven and five. We also have a German Shepherd who is almost three. Life with our family is so busy, but so fun!

​

Since we are very family oriented, we see our extended family often, including our grandparents.

​

God is the center of our family and we are truly blessed!

December 2024- We visit Honolulu City Lights every year and wear a matching outfit based on a color. This past year was black and pink!

My Hobbies

On my spare time, I love to go spend time with my family, eat, and go shopping.

​

Some of our favorite family activities we enjoy are fishing and going to the zoo, aquarium, or to Fun Factory and Chuck E Cheese.

​

We also like to stay home often! When we do, we like to watch Disney+ and Netflix together while snacking. :D

What I Love About Our Classroom

Creating a space for my students to grow, enjoy, and learn is so important for me. I love creating lessons, teaching materials, and activities that I feel passionate about.

I find it so fun to incorporate different materials, from games to online websites. I truly believe in engaging students to love learning.

Having flexible seating is a blessing for us to have as well. Students in our classroom will have the opportunity to work together and collaborate with other students often.

Respect, honesty, and perseverance are qualities that I admire in students. I believe that we are a team between the classroom and home.

When I Was in School

I knew that I wanted to become a teacher since I was in preschool. At one point I also thought I wanted to go into Marine Biology since I loved ocean animals, but I could never touch a fish so that career would never work out!

Growing up, I felt inspired by each one of my teachers' love for their classroom. I loved every single class that I was in for many different reasons.

​

I attended Lunalilo Elementary, Washington Middle, and McKinley High. I also graduated with my Bachelors in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Fun Facts About Me

  • My husband and I have been together for over 20 years.
  • I love claw machine games!
  • I always love to get involved in activities. In high school I played volleyball for 4 years, was the Homecoming Queen, and Senior Prom Chairperson.
  • I also work for a wedding coordination company part-time.
  • This is my 16th year teaching. I also did all of my student teaching here, so in total, I have been a part of the Alvah Scott Family for 18 years!
  • I love shopping and have A LOT of clothes!
  • I love to collect seashells and Starbucks tumblers.
  • I could eat ahi poke bowls every single day and not get sick of them! I would love to try different and new places!
