NOTE: if your colleges use the CA when you apply to those universities should connect the Common Application to Xello

However, if you apply to ONLY ONE college/university then you do DO NOT need to use CA.

even though you will go direct to the institution website and APPLY

you still must list the ONE college/university in Xello

Official Transcripts through Xello. 

Make sure in May or June you go back to Xello to LIST your FINAL school of destination - that is the place your FINAL Sheldon transcript will be sent.

After you choose your various college options you must:

“request” your INITIAL transcript to be sent.  

At the end of the year (MAY-JUNE 2025):

you will request a FINAL transcript for your FINAL college choice.

Sheldon does not provide an Official Transcript to anyone unless it goes through Xello.  

If you wish an unofficial transcript for a scholarship,

you will need to stop by and see your Counselor.  

A college coach requesting a transcript will ONLY be sent an “unofficial”.

Ask the coach to send an email to the Sheldon NCAA Administrator (Voss@4j.lane.edu).  

Voss will send the coach an unofficial transcript directly back.

Check with the institution you are applying to know if ACT/SAT test scores are “OPTIONAL” or “REQUIRED”.

Many colleges are beginning to request Test Scores,

especially private colleges -

call and ask your university/college.

You must seek out the Teacher(s) of choice IN PERSON

Ask if they are willing to write you a Letter of Recommendation 

If so.. hand the Teacher the Letter of Recommendation Request form.

The Letter of Rec MUST be requested

by the student with a 10 days advanced notic to the teacher

All Counselors must write an “evaluation” 

if the Colleges require a Counselor recommendation

You must personally meet with your Counselor and hand them the Letter of Recommendation form - no later than 10 days in advance of your deadline.

Plan to arrange a meeting or campus tour this summer.

 [NCAA - NAIA] - Determine whether or not you need to complete your NCAA application.  

Go to NCAA.ORG or NAIA.ORG.

Junior year - NCAA application should have been submitted by Spring of grade 11…the transcript is sent in the summer of that year.

Senior year -the transcript is sent in the summer AFTER you graduate.

Deadlines are typically October 15, November 1 or 15,

December 1 or 15, and January 1.

Most Regular decision deadlines are January 15, February 1 & 15.
