LIVINGSTREAMS (CHOIR)

Mission:

  • We magnify the presence of the Lord by leading, directing and facilitating congregational worship via music not be for the mere pleasure of the ears, but for the declaration of God’s Truth
  • We prayerfully seek to show the congregation (under guidance of the Holy Spirit) the way to respond beyond the temporal (emotions, feelings) and reach, a taste of the worship of heaven.
  • We demonstrate worship in spirit and in truth which encourages the congregation to do the same.

The main function of the choir is to be the “show and tell” of worship. It takes the initiative, it inspires, it helps, and it leads.

“They shall stand every morning, thanking and praising the Lord, and likewise at evening, and whenever burn offerings are offered to the Lord on Sabbath, new moons and feast days, according to the number required of them, continually before the Lord” (1 Chron 23:30-31).

LIVINGSTREAMS (CHOIR)

Our Duties: Drawing from the principles of the music ministry at the Temple.

• Like the Levites, we are to minister the word to the people through our music which is:

• God-glorifying, with lyrics which are rich with the wisdom of the word of Christ and affirm the congregation in God’s Goodness and Righteousness

  • We are to be prepared spiritually.

• We are to be set aside and ordained for this ministry.

• We must sanctify ourselves and prepare our hearts before worship.

• The choir is responsible for more than making music. It has potential for being a dynamo of spiritual energy in the worship life of the church.
