NPS: Acadia National Park Nature Center

Like museums, National parks serve thousands of visitors every year and with each year, they are also tasked with a redesign of out of date exhibits to reflect current research, to update technology, and to address accessibility standards as required by section 508,ADA compliance, and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Acadia Natl Park, which is located on an island off the coast of Maine, is the most-visited national park in the US with more than two million visitors each year. The park just redesigned their Nature Center with a new exhibit on Climate Change. This is the first National Park to cover this topic and within 3 yrs, park plans to update their content based on new research.

This past year, we were brought in to develop a beacon based mobile app meant for blind/low vision visitors
