Problem Statement

The current medical curriculum does not include artificial intelligence (AI). What are medical students’ attitudes and perceptions regarding AI and their future careers in medicine?

Methodology

    • Questionnaire: demographic characteristics, expected AI learning competencies, AI and physicians’ roles and responsibilities, effect of AI on physician-patient relationship, ethical and rational use of AI.
    • Focus group discussion: general perceptions on AI and use of chatbots
    • N=20 2nd year medical students enrolled in the medical informatics elective of the UP College of Medicine
