What is Naviance Student?
Naviance Student is a web-based program that supports students in exploring and developing their postsecondary plans. It addresses four key areas of college and career readiness:
How Students Use Naviance
Naviance Student also lets us share information with you and your student about upcoming meetings and events, local scholarship opportunities, and other resources for college and career information.
What features are available to students in Naviance???
Career Assessments (9th & 10th grade)
Your student can complete multiple career assessments to help him or her learn more about his or her personality. You can review the results and help find the different types of careers and college majors that fit your student’s interests and strengths. You and your student can access in-depth information from hundreds of career options, including job descriptions, tasks and activities performed in that career, and expected wages.
My Game Plan Survey (9th-11th grade)
My Game Plan Survey asks students a series of questions designed to help them develop a "game plan" for achieving their goals after graduation. The survey asks students questions such as these:
• What is your general goal after you graduate from high school?
• What type of community setting would you most prefer around your college campus?
• Are you interested in participating in varsity sports?
StrengthsExplorer (9th Grade)
StrengthsExplorer is an online assessment designed to help students realize their emerging talents. This assessment asks students to what degree they associate themselves with statements like these:
• I love to help others feel welcome
• I enjoy being in front of a group
• I like to imagine what the future will be like
Career Interest Profiler (10th & 11th grade)
The Career Interest Profiler is an online career assessment designed to help students identify colleges and careers that are best suited for them. Student results are based on responses to questions like this:
How would you feel about it if you were to...
• Study genetics?
• Maintain the grounds of a park?
• Test the quality of parts before shipment?
• Enter the information into a database?
Roadtrip Nation (9th-12th)
The Roadtrip Nation interview archive is a digital career exploration tool that enables students to discover new pathways, interests, and ambitions. The archive includes over 5,000 full-length video interviews chronicling the diverse personal stories of leaders who have turned their interests into their life’s work.
Interviews are conducted by young people who have candid conversations with leaders about their successes and failures and how they were able to navigate life’s many challenges to pursue endeavors that matter to them. By hearing how successful people overcame challenges, students can learn from leaders and apply those insights to their own lives.

College Readiness
Your student can research a variety of colleges and can use information from career assessments and course plans to help identify the colleges he or she is interested in. Students can match their college preferences in terms of size, location, major, etc., and Naviance will generate a list specific to the criteria.
The generated list will also show the percentage of how closely the colleges fit your student’s wants and needs, and provides specific information on college admissions, tuition, school size and financial aid.
Students can compare the facts of many schools in an easy-to-see format.
SuperMatch College Search (11th grade)
Equipping Students with More Tools to Find Best-Fit Colleges
The SuperMatch college search tool within Naviance makes it even easier for students to explore their options and discover colleges that are a match with their academic profile and a fit with what they’re looking for in a college experience.
SuperMatch can be found by navigating to Colleges Home > Find Your Fit.
Scattergrams (11th & 12th grade)
Scattergrams are two-dimensional graphs with the intersection of values on the x- and y-axis represented as individual data points. In Naviance, a scattergram shows GPA on the x-axis and SAT, ACT or other standardized test scores on the y-axis. Scattergrams are used to analyze the history of applications to a college. Scattergrams are available in Naviance and Naviance Student.
Scholarships (9th-12th grade)
Naviance has a searchable scholarship database. You can filter by grade level, GPA, and other factors to see opportunities provided at the local and district level. Some scholarships also require a letter of recommendation and can be requested through Naviance.
College Readiness (11th grade)
College Readiness (12th grade)
Graduation Survey (12th grade)
The Graduation Survey is a brief questionnaire administered to students near their graduation date. The purpose of the survey is to keep track of post high school plans and college and scholarship trends.
