Van Driver Training Course

Submit a copy of current and valid Driver’s License

Van Driver Qualification Form can be found on our district website under "departments" – "transportation" – "van driver paperwork"; and submit the packet to the Transportation Department when it's completed.

However, additional requirements are mandatory if an employee is transporting students, regardless of the travel time or destination. In order to transport students, a staff member must complete the following (annually):

(series of on-line courses done through Safe Schools)

If you are transporting students you must have a valid first aid card; whilst the school district is not providing the First Aid and CPR training, you can find a local source i.e. Fire Department for the course. Feel free to email me directly if you need assistance. Also, You can find the Van Driver Packets on the district website. Van Drivers must be employees of the school district – required by Risk Management.

Complete a Van Driver “Walk Through” with Transportation Supervisor Bob Cain.

THE PAPERWORK AND ONLINE TRAINING IS REQUIRED EVERY YEAR.

PLEASE TAKE CARE OF COMPLETING THE PAPERWORK IN PLENTY OF TIME, AS THE DOL IS ALLOWED UP TO 6 WEEKS TO PROCESS DRIVING ABSTRACTS.

STAFF WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRANSPORT STUDENTS IN DISTRICT VEHICLES UNTIL ABSTRACTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED AND APPROVED.

Mileage Logs are in each vehicle. Please complete all the requested information on the log sheet.

Please record not only your destination, but also the reason for your trip. Completion of these logs is mandatory!

Please notify the transportation department of any mechanical problem or damage of the vehicle as soon as possible.

Accident packets are located inside the vans for instructions for reporting to Risk Management.

The billing section must be completed in full to reserve the vehicle.

You must complete the pre-trip before using the vehicle.

Note the after-hours instructions regarding re-fueling.
