  • one practice that you are proud of from this list and
  • one thing you’d like to improve or add to your classroom practices.

3. As a team, set a timer for 20 -25 minutes and discuss the following prompts:

  • How do you structure your daily morning meetings?
  • How do you introduce the calming corner in your classroom?
  • As a grade level, how do we want to approach buddy rooms? Who is buddying up? Is it kid by kid basis?
  • How do you teach classroom procedures in your space?

If more time, please discuss according to need.

  • Opportunity to tell more about how you structure certain Tier 1 SEL practices.
  • What tier 1 SEL practices do you attribute to building a successful classroom community?
  • Are there any grade level non negotiables you want to establish with tier 1 SEL supports?
  • How do you use circles to support your classrooms throughout the day?
  • Visiting each others’ spaces to see structure of tier 1 SEL practices.
