Introduction
INTRODUCTION TO THE STUDY
As the world advances to the modern information age, a lot of automation solutions have been introduced in various fields in order to maintain on time, secured and low cost services to meet the needs off as moving society.
In this process one field that remained behind a bit is the student financial information management system Even though all university in Rwanda have highly technical advance electronic devices such as computers, printers and scanners, but cooperative assets management system are not actively taken automation in all campus (karlin, 2022).
Background of the project
Over the past two decades computer technologies revolutionized in the way that it improved the management and maintenance of data or information tremendously. This enables the computer technology to meet the user’s demand for reliable, quick accessibility and retrieval of data. Thus, the computer has become indispensable throughout society in general and organization in particular. As a result, handling, managing and storing of data or information is made easier by computer-based system as human errors are greatly reduced (Nee, 2005).
Problem Statement
The management information systems of finance departments in most Universities face a range of challenges that revolve around the effective maintenance of financial information. One area of particular concern is the management of student financials within the department. The frequent interaction of students with the finance department necessitates a streamlined and efficient system for handling their financial data.
Sometimes when the student want to request his/her historical payment ,they take a lot of time to wait those services, and many students claims when the system shows them that they did not pay when they make sure that they have a receipt from the bank.
In order to solve those problems, it requires the implementation of a computerized system. That will help the student, admin and other participants in terms of financial to manage their information which is held between student and finance department. That is why our topic summarizes those problems in Financial Information Management System(FIMS).
Solution - SFIMS
The Student Financial Information Management System (FIMS) aims to address challenges faced by finance departments in managing student financials in university settings, particularly in Rwanda. The system is designed to streamline the process of handling financial data, improve data integration, and enhance the management of student financial information.

This web application was developed to help institutions in Rwanda, as well as the data computerization, we studied and analyzed the system which can be easier for institutions to use and which is more accurate in most of all the members and staff. Also this application is developed to the best of our country Rwanda in the field of technology and mostly in education sector. According to what we have looked ahead to achieve our project has full filled completely.
