Student Activities

Art Club–I started the art club because there is a lack of art education in the early grades in Idaho. I got my start in the schools volunteering in an art room at my children's school. I saw the valuable skills that kids today are missing, such as scissor skills and even folding a piece of paper.

When I taught at Jerome Academy, I made sure to have art as part of our weekly curriculum. Now I'm pleased to have the opportunity to provide the chance for students at Horizon to explore the elements of art and explore professional artists and learn new techniques. We have about 30 students that come every week. They look forward to it, and are excited to show their families and friends what they are doing. Patti Harvey
