Installing Ngā Motu Resource Pack

  • To download the resource pack https://aka.ms/MAHIMAINA (remember where you saved it!)
  • Open the file in MinecraftEDU (in both Windows and Mac, right-click on the file and click on "Open with". MinecraftEDU has to be installed first)

Go to MinecraftEDU, login, go to Settings > Global Resources click on the + underneath Mahimaina

Clicking Back (at the top where it says < Settings) will immediately load the resource pack. You will be able to tell straight away because the logo will have changed from MinecraftEDU to Mahimaina

Go back to Settings, and now click on Language

Find Māori (Aotearoa) and tick it, it will immediately change all the commands into te reo Māori. You're done!

You also need to ensure the resource pack is included in any world you are creating. From the main screen, if you click on Play you get the Play screen, from there click on View My Worlds.

Then on the left, there is Add-Ons, and there is a Resource Packs and Behaviour Packs section:

In both sections make sure the Mahimaina pack is active.

Ka rawe! That’s it! You can tell you've done it all successfully when you can spawn kiwi and moa! Go into your world and try to spawn a moa or a kiwi.
