Partnership Overview
Package cost: $5,000 to be paid to the Sanitation Foundation to provide educational programming.
Select stakeholders work with Sanitation Foundation staff to create an action plan to reduce waste and increase recycling rate.
This can be hosted with student green teams, as a professional development session with teachers, or with multiple stakeholders to build new waste sorting and reduction practices.
Sanitation Foundation staff is available to connect by video, phone, text or email to act as an accountability partner and point of support to keep you on track to meet your goals.
Gain access to an online platform that analyzes waste using artificial intelligence. This both minimizes the time needed to perform waste audits and increases the efficiency of on-going data collection.

A $5,000 Sustainability Project Grant will support:
Play Streets are a long-standing tradition in New York City, where streets are closed to traffic to allow kids to play and neighbors to connect. Work with Street Lab to teach your students about the history of Play Streets and the Open Streets program that is bringing them back. Students will then help create a one-day street event in front of the school that brings the entire community together.

Estuary Explorers was founded to educate youth on our shared waterways and focused on climate change and resilience for students in grades 4 through 12. Our field labs give students the opportunity to explore and learn at their local waterfronts, often discovering areas that are new to them. Educators also make trips out to schools across NYC and lead lessons directly from our resources including our curriculum and workbook. We also provide environmental justice workshops, focused on flooding & heat mapping, as well as teacher trainings.
