Las Metas de hoy…

Para tener éxito…

We are learning to:

  1. start, maintain, and end a conversation in pure Spanish (1 round of Quizlet, 3 mini rounds with sheet, one last practice round with no sheet)
  2. make appropriate word choices
  3. ask and answer questions about our personalities, others’ personalities, and our (dis)likes
  4. select appropriate resources and strategies to meet our personal and academic goals

We’ll know we’re successful when we can…

  • participate fully in conversations with our partners
  • consider gender, quantity and register when speaking
  • use the full question and response structures to talk about these topics with my partner
  • figure out what to do between classes to get more prepared

Tiempo para trabajar: WORK TIME!

OBLIGATORIO: Make your Google Slide for a visual to use next class. Get it checked by Profe once you’re done to make sure it can be used.

Opción 1: Make paper flashcards on notecards of the question structures if haven’t memorized how to ask the questions. Then practice them.

Opción 2: Check with Profe on what homework assignments are missing for Unit 1. Get extra copies to complete over the weekend. Start doing the work now. (Not sure how to do a HW? Ask Profe!)

Opción 3: Go on to www.profeczer.com and use the Quizlets to help with pronunciation. Put in earbuds, click on the audio symbol & repeat after the computer models the language.

Opción 4: Work with a partner to run through the conversation more times, focusing on:

  • the quality of your answers
  • not having to use the guiding sheet
  • Talking about others, especially groups correctly using son & somos + plural adjective forms
  • Comparing family members using the language from Day 21 slides (más/menos…que)

Opción 5: Show Profe the corrections you’ve made to your Unit 1 Reading Quiz (where you got out a lined piece of paper, used the descriptive feedback & tried to write new, correct answers down after reading it again. Profe can sign your “Request to Retest” sheet & tell you what strategies to use next to prepare for the retake.

And if it’s super challenging & you don’t feel successful, always remember the power of YET! Maybe you can’t do it YET, but that doesn’t mean you can’t learn and can’t do better in the future!
