من این کار را نکرده ام!

• A child had been playing, and had left a lot of torn paper lying untidily on the floor. His mother looked rather cross when she saw it. "Who did that?" she asked. The little boy answered promptly, "Daddy!“

​

• We´re all a bit like that little boy. We just don´t like to admit when we´ve done something wrong. We like to blame someone else.

​

• کودکی که در حال بازی بود و کاغذ پاره های زیادی را روی زمین ریخته بود. مادرش متوجه او شد و گفت: "چه کسی این کار را کرده؟" پسر کوچک به سرعت جواب داد: "بابا!“

​

• همۀ ما کمی شبیه به این پسر کوچک هستیم. ما نمی خواهیم به اشتباه خود اقرار کنیم، بلکه دوست داریم شخص دیگری را مُقصّر بدانیم.

I didn’t do it!

​

من این کار را نکرده ام!

• But the apostle James tells us, "Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed." (James, chapter 1, verse 14).

​

• And we have to admit, if we are honest, that it is the evil thoughts in our own mind that make us do and say evil things. We cannot lay the blame for our sins on anyone else.

• اما یعقوب نبی به ما می گوید "انسان وقتی دچار وسوسه می‌شود كه مجذوب و فریفتۀ شهوات خود باشد." (یعقوب، باب 1، آیۀ 14).

• و اگر صادق باشیم، باید اقرار کنیم که شیطان در ذهنهای ماست که باعث می شود ما کارهای شریر و بد انجام داده و شریرانه سخن بگوییم. ما نمی توانیم مسئولیت گناهان خود را بر گردن دیگران بیاندازیم.

No one else to blame

شیطان کیست؟

• The Bible certainly speaks of a devil. If he is not a supernatural being, tempting men to do evil, then we must ask the question: "Who is he?“

​

• Let us see if we can find out from the Bible. Start at 1st Letter of John, which tells us why Jesus was sent. "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. “ (1 John 3:8)

​

• کتاب مقدس بطور مشخص دربارۀ یک شیطان صحبت می کند. اگر او یک شخصیت ماورایی و خارق العاده نیست که مردم را وسوسه کند، پس باید بپرسیم: "او کیست؟"

​

• بگذارید ببینیم می توانیم در کتاب مقدس آنرا پیدا کنیم. نخست، اول یوحنا، باب 3، آیۀ 8 را ببینید. این آیه به ما می گوید که دلیل فرستاده شدن عیسی چه بود. برای همین هدف پسر خدا ثابت کرد که می تواند کارهای شیطان را نابود کند: "اما فرزند خدا آمد تا اعمال شیطان را باطل سازد."

Who is the Devil?

گوشت و خون

• The same idea as 1 John 3:8 occurs in Hebrews: "Forsamuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil." (Hebrews 2:14)

​

• This tells us that Jesus came to destroy the devil, and it explains how He did it. He came as a frail human being, and died in order to destroy the devil.
• How strange! If the devil was a very powerful and deceitful monster, that would have been impossible. No - the devil of the Bible - the devil that Jesus destroyed by dying on a cross, was sin.

• کمی جلوتر در عبرانیان، باب 2، آیۀ 14 نیز چنین موضوعی مشاهده می شود، "از آنجا که این فرزندان خدا، انسان هستند و دارای گوشت و خون می‌باشند، او نیز گوشت و خون شد و به شکل انسان درآمد؛ زیرا فقط با انسان شدن می‌توانست جانش را در راه ما فدا کند و بمیرد، و با مرگ خود، قدرت شیطان را نابود سازد، شیطانی که صاحب اختیار مرگ بود.“

• عبارت دوم به ما می گوید که عیسی برای نابود ساختن شیطان آمد، و توضیح می دهد که او چگونه این کار را انجام داد. او بصورت انسانی وسوسه شونده آمد و با مرگ خود، شیطان را نابود ساخت.
• چقدر عجیب! اگر شیطان یک هیولای بسیار قدرتمند و فریبنده بود، این امر میبایست غیر ممکن باشد. خیر، - شیطانِ کتاب مقدس- شیطانی که عیسی با مرگ خود او را شکست داد، همان گناه بود.

Flesh and blood

عیسی خود را قربانی کرد

• We read in Hebrews "Now... he [Jesus] has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself." (Hebrews 9:26)

​

• We have emphasised in an earlier lesson ("The Cross") that Jesus inherited a nature like ours.

• در عبرانیان، باب 9، آیۀ 26 می خوانیم، "...زیرا او فقط یکبار و آن هم برای همیشه در زمان آخر ظاهر شد تا با مرگ خود به عنوان قربانی، گناه را از بین ببرد."

​

• در درس پیش (درس "صلیب") دربارۀ اینکه عیسی طبیعتی مانند ما داشت تأکید کردیم.
• آزاد و جاودان بود.

Jesus’ sacrifice of himself

عیسی خود را قربانی کرد

• It was a nature that could be tempted by sin. Jesus fought against sin all His life; and finally destroyed sin completely by destroying the very nature that could be tempted.

​

• It was because of this that God raised Him from the dead and gave Him a "glorious body", free from all sin, and immortal.

• این طبیعت به راحتی در برابر گناه، وسوسه می شد. عیسی در تمام زندگی خود، علیه گناه جنگید و سرانجام گناه را بکلی با نابود کردنِ طبیعت وسوسه شوندۀ انسانی از بین برد.

​

• این به این خاطر بود که خدا او را از مردگان برخیزانید و به او یک "بدن باشکوه" عطا کرد که از گناه آزاد و جاودان بود.

Jesus destroyed sin

شیطان و گناه

• There is one simple way of showing that sin and the devil are the same thing. All that the Bible says about the devil , it say about sin.�
• The devil is the enemy of God - so is sin.
• The devil is the tempter of man - so is sin.
• The devil is deceitful - so is sin.
• The devil causes death (Hebrews, chapter 2, verse 14) - so does sin.
• The devil was destroyed by the death of Christ - so was sin.�
• From these comparisons we can see that the devil and sin must be the same thing.

• راه ساده ای برای نشان دادن اینکه شیطان و گناه یکی هستند وجود دارد. تمام چیزی که کتاب مقدس دربارۀ شیطان گفته، دربارۀ گناه گفته است.
• شیطان همان دشمنِ خداست، پس همان گناه است.
• شیطان، وسوسه کنندۀ بشر است، پس همان گناه است.
• شیطان فریبنده است، پس همان گناه است.
• شیطان باعث مرگ می شود (عبرانیان، باب 2، آیۀ 14) پس همان گناه است.
• شیطان توسط مرگِ عیسی نابود شد، پس همان گناه است.
• از این مقایسه ها می ببینیم که شیطان و گناه باید یک چیز باشند

The Devil and sin

کلمۀ " ابلیس" واقعاً به چه معنی است؟

• The word "devil“ (Greek diabolos, Persian Iblis) really means "slanderer", or "false accuser".
• In I Timothy, chapter 3, verse 11, we read, "Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers.“ (not iblis)
• The word translated "slanderer" here is the same word that is translated "devil“ (iblis) in other places.�

• کلمۀ "ابلیس" در حقیقت به معنی "تهمت زننده" یا "متهم کننده" است.

​

• در اول تیموتائوس، باب 3، آیۀ 11 می خوانیم: " و به همینطور زنان نیز باید باوقار باشند و نه غیبت ‌گو (تهمت زننده و شایعه ساز)“

​

• در بعضی ترجمه ها، کلمۀ "تهمت زننده" با همان مفهومِ "ابلیس" در قسمت های دیگر، ترجمه شده است.

What does the word “Devil” (Iblis) mean?

​

کلمۀ "شیطان" واقعاً به چه معنی است؟

• The word "satan" is also used - usually in the New testament.

​

• A "satan" is an adversary - one who opposes. So when Peter tries to persuade Jesus to turn aside from the way in which God has said Jesus must go - the way of the cross - Peter becomes and adversary, and Jesus says to him, "Get thee behind me, satan" (Matthew 16:23)

• کلمۀ "شیطان (satan)" نیز معمولاً در عهد جدید بکار برده شده است.

​

• یک "شیطان (satan)" مخالفی است که به مخالفت دست می- زند. پس زمانی که پطرس سعی کرد عیسی را به برگشتن از راه خدا و آنچا خدا خواسته بود انجام شود (مصلوب شدن)، وادار کند، پطرس یک مخالف شد و عیسی به او گفت: "دور شو از من‌ ای شیطان" (متی، باب 16، آیۀ 23).

What does the word “Satan" mean?

شیطان های انسانی

• Anything which works against God may be called "satan", so when Paul was prevented from going to see the Thessalonians, he wrote to them, "Satan hindered us" (I Thessalonians, chapter 2, verse 18)..

• هر چیزی که مخالف با خدا عمل کند "شیطان (satan)" نامیده می شود، پس زمانیکه پولس از رفتن به دیدن تسالونیکیان خودداری می کند، به آنها می نویسد "شیطان مانع ما می‌شد" (اول تسالونیکیان، باب 2، آیۀ 18).

Human satans

ای ستارۀ درخشان صبح

• It is in Isaiah 14:12 "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Shining One, son of the morning!“

​

• But if we read the whole chapter, we find that this “Shining One" is the King of Babylon, and the prophet is foretelling his downfall. In verse 15, Isaiah speaks of this king´s death, and goes on to say, in verse 16, "Is this the man that made the earth to tremble?" . (Isaiah 14:16)

• یک عبارت دیگر وجود دارد، این بار از عهد عتیق، که باید الان به آن نگاهی بکنیم، زیرا بعضی مردم فکر می کنند که این بخش می خواهد به ما بیاموزد که شیطان، فرشتۀ سقوط کرده است. این مطلب در اشعیا، باب 14، آیۀ 12 است که می- گوید:
• "ای ستارۀ درخشان صبح (لوسیفر)، چگونه از آسمان افتادی!“

​

• اما اگر باب را کامل بخوانیم، متوجه می شویم که "لوسیفر" پادشاه بابل است و نبی در اینجا سقوط او را پیشگویی می کند. در آیۀ 15، اشعیا دربارۀ مرگ این شاه صحبت می کند و در آیۀ 16 ادامه می دهد که "آیا این همان کسی نیست که زمین را می‌لرزاند و ممالک از ترسش به خود می‌لرزیدند؟"

Shining one, son of the morning

There is one more passage - this time from the Old Testament - which we must look at, now, because some people think it teaches us that Satan is a fallen angel.

بیرون انداختن شیطان

• The writers of the New Testament, when telling us of the miracles of healing that Jesus performed, often use the expression, "He cast out demons".

​

• How are we to understand this? In the days of Jesus, it is commonly thought that certain illnesses, and also afflictions, such as deafness and blindness, were caused by evil spirits which took possession of a man. .

• وقتی نویسنده های عهد جدید به ما دربارۀ معجزات و شفاهایی که عیسی انجام داد می گویند، اغلب از اصطلاح "او ارواح پلید را بیرون راند" استفاده کرده اند.

​

• چگونه این را درک می کنیم؟ در زمان عیسی، این تفکرات رایج بودند که بیماری ها و دردهای مشخصی مانند ناشنوایی و نابینایی، توسط روح پلید با تصاحب کردن جسم یک شخص، بوجود می آمدند.

Casting out demons

روح پلید خارج شده بود

• It was natural, when the man was healed, to say that the "demon was gone out of him", and, in using this expression, the gospel writers were simply using a phrase which was common in those days. We do not imagine that, because they wrote in this way, they really believed that evil spirits dwelt in men.

• طبیعی بود که زمانی که آن شخص شفا می یافت، آنها می گفتند که "روح پلید از او خارج شده است" و بدلیل رایج بودن این اصطلاح در آن زمان، نویسنده های انجیل نیز درست همین اصطلاح را در نوشته های خود بکار برده اند. ما نمی توانیم بدلیل اینکه آنها اینطور نوشته اند، تصور کنیم که آنها نیز باور داشته اند که روح پلید در آن انسانها ساکن بوده است.

Demon gone out

یک خالق بزرگ

• Belief in an evil being, who is God´s great rival, is not new. In the days of Isaiah the prophet, the Persians believed in two great powers, corresponding to God and the devil.

​

• The first was supposed to be the creator of light and goodness, and the second of darkness, and all that is evil.

​

• In answer to this wrong belief, God sent a message through the prophet Isaiah.

• اعتقاد به وجود شیطان، به عنوان رقیب بزرگِ خدا، اعتقاد تازه ای نیست. در زمان اشعیای نبی، پارسیان به دو قدرت بزرگِ برابر اعتقاد داشتند که یکی خدا و دیگری شیطان بود.
• اولی خالق روشنایی و نیکی ها بود، و دومی خالق تاریکی و تمام بدی ها.
• خدا در جواب به این باور اشتباه، به اشعیای نبی پیامی فرستاد.

The one great Creator

خدا روشنایی و تاریکی را آفرید

• "I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside Me: I girded thee, though hast not known Me: that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside Me. I am the Lord, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil. I, the Lord, do all these things". (Isaiah 45:5-7)

• می توانیم این مطلب را در اشعیا، باب 45، آیۀ 5-7 بخوانیم: "من یهوه هستم و دیگری نیست و غیر از من خدایی نیست. من کمر تو را بستم هنگامی که مرا نشناختی تا از مشرق آفتاب و مغرب آن بدانند که سوای من احدی نیست. من یهوه هستم و دیگری نیست. پدید آورندۀ نور و آفرینندۀ ظلمت. صانعِ سلامتی وآفرینندۀ بدی. من یهوه صانع همه این چیزها هستم."

God creates light and darkness

اشعیا 45 : 7 خدا و بدی

(The word "evil" here must not be confused with sin. It means "trouble" - that God brings upon sinners).

​

• This passage proves to us finally that there is one great power in the universe, ordering all things - one great Creator, the Lord God Almighty. There is no creature that can challenge His power, and there is no powerful and deceitful monster, called the devil, who can dare to oppose Him.�

• (کلمۀ "بدی" در اینجا نباید با گناه اشتباه گرفته شود. "بدی" به معنی "دردسر و مشکل" است که خدا آنرا از طریق گناهان می دهد.)

​

• این عبارت در نهایت به ما ثابت می کند که تنها یک قدرت عظیم در جهان وجود دارد که همه چیز در اختیار اوست و او خدای قادر مطلق است. هیچ خالقی وجود ندارد که بتواند با قدرت او رقابت کند و هیچ هیولای فریبنده و قدرتمندی به نام شیطان وجود ندارد که بتواند به خود جرأت مخالفت با خدا را بدهد.

کلامِ پایانی

• You may want to ask why the Bible so often uses the word "devil" instead of just saying "sin"; and why it speaks of this devil as if it were describing a powerful and deceitful person.

​

• It is surely so that we can understand how powerful and how deceitful sin is.

• We must learn this lesson before we can appreciate fully how much we need to be saved from sin.

• ممکن است بخواهید بپرسید که چرا کتاب مقدس اغلب از کلمۀ "شیطان" بجای کلمۀ "گناه" استفاده می کند، و چرا شیطان را به عنوان شخصیتی قدرتمند و فریبنده توصیف می کند.
• به این خاطر است که ما بتوانیم درک کنیم که گناه تا چه اندازه قدرتمند و فریبنده است.
• ما باید این درس را پیش از اینکه بتوانیم بطور کامل درک کنیم که تا چه حد محتاج نجات یافتن از گناه بوده ایم، بیاموزیم.

One final word

خلاصه

What we have learnt

1. The devil is not a great evil spirit.

​

2. The devil (iblis), or Satan, are just Bible names for what we now call "human nature".

​

3. That is where temptation comes from - from within our own sinful, human nature.

​

4. Men who give in to temptation, and behave wickedly, are sometimes called "Satan", too.

آنچه آموختیم

1. شیطان یک روح پلید و شریر نیست.

​

2. شیطان، یا ابلیس کلمه ایست در کتاب مقدس که برای "طبیعت انسانی" استفاده شده است.

​

3. طبیعتِ انسانیِ گناه آلود ما، همان سرچشمۀ وسوسه های ماست.

​

4. انسان هایی که تسلیم وسوسه می شوند و با ضعف های خود عمل می کنند نیز گاهی اوقات "شیطان" نامیده می شوند.
