It is important for a child to read Russian as much as possible in order to become fluent reader. Encourage your youth to read Russian at home. Here is a website that provides Russian online books, https://skazkiwsem.fun/

Загадка

Без воздуха живёт она,

И как могила холодна.

Не пьёт, хотя в воде сидит.

В броне, блестит, хотя и не звенит.

Ответ на загадку:

The 6th-10th grade students are almost done with Unit 1 "Review Russian grammar." We are also reading different Russian stories and learning new vocabulary words.

The students are continually writing in their daily journals.

This week, we focused on learning about the structure of sentences in Russian. The students explored how to properly construct basic sentences, including the placement of subjects, verbs, and objects.

Our 8th-12th grade students helped move the Russian room to the consumer class room. We are so proud of their teamwork and willingness to lend a hand.

We want to thank all the Substitutes that have been helping teach our students. We appreciate all of your support.

Voz Preschool Newsletter

October 2024

Happy Fall! Each day during preschool we have circle time. Circle time is a short time period that gets longer as the year goes on and preschoolers start sitting and attending to the teacher for longer. We alternate teaching circle time in English and Russian. Anfisa goes over Russian letters, vocabulary and rhymes in Russian.

In English circle time, we have been learning names, letters, counting, songs, poems and rhymes. Why so many songs, poems and rhymes? Rhyming is a pre-reading skill that is really important. Children should learn to have fun playing with words and listening to how they sound. Then when they are in kindergarten they can hear and say the sounds in the correct order.

Annie Robinson

arobinson@kpbsd.k12.ak.us

TIP: Does your child love to be read books that have rhymes? Read as much as possible to them and feel free to repeat the same book over and over, if they are enjoying it. Point out words that sound the same. Ask them if they know any other words that rhyme. (cat, bat, rat,, mat).
