  • You must think carefully about what you “say” and how you “say” it.
  • Commenting is a way to continue a “conversation” online.

Be Able To:

  • Express yourself clearly and respectfully when commenting online.
  • Act and model safe, legal, and ethical behavior when commenting
  • Use comments to connect with learners from all over the world.

Are there rules for commenting?

Answer

  • There are not necessarily “rules” for commenting.
  • There are many different types of platforms which provide opportunities for commenting.
  • We are going to focus on commenting on blog posts.
  • At BPS we do have some “guidelines” for commenting on blogs.

  • I would like you to try using these when you are creating comments.

Your Final Task

To wrap up this “Commenting Activity” you will need to put together everything we have covered. I have created a document with a blog post.

  • Please make a copy of this document: not even giving you a hint this time.
  • Replace the words “Copy of” with your first and last name.
  • Follow the instructions at the top of the document.
  • When you have completed this assignment PRINT a copy.**
  • Place this printed copy in the “Ticket to Leave” basket before leaving class.
  • Put the digital copy in your “Commenting Resources” folder.

**Be sure to print only one piece of paper. Stop and think before printing.
