CTSOs were established with the commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of young people. In addition to offering a wide variety of specific career and technical training, CTE integrates student leadership elements, which complements student participation in these courses and programs.

Provide new or less experienced FCCLA advisers with a guide for a very basic FCCLA chapter start-up, as part of intercurricular Family and Consumer Sciences classes.

8 Purposes of FCCLA
1. To provide opportunities for personal development and preparation for adult life.
2. To strengthen the family as a basic unit of society.
3. To encourage democracy through cooperative action in the home and community.

5. To promote a greater understanding between youth and adults.

Leadership is a primary focus of FCCLA. As students take responsibility for planning, implementing, and evaluation chapter projects and activities, they develop the skills needed to take the lead in their families, careers, and communities.
Officer Positions (Executive Committee)
Presides at meetings, assists with group decisions, knows officer duties and collaborates.
Assists the president as needed, works with planning committee and develops members.
Keeps accurate and complete minutes of all chapter meetings and activities, assists advisor.
Keeps accurate record of chapter income. Records dues, works with chapter advisor to manage funds.
