UD Business Plan Competition is sponsored by The Entrepreneurs Center. Students compete for a prize money to use to continue a startup.

“The Innovation Hub” is a future Center located in the heart of Dayton. It will contain over 100,000 sq. ft. of project space for students of local universities to utilize for academic, research, and experiential learning purposes.

The Innovation Center is part of the School of Engineering’s Senior Design projects. Teams are paired with industry contacts to tackle real problems. The center houses workspace, machines, tools, computers, and financial/ legal guidance.

Flyer Angels along with local angel organizations evaluate new venture business plans from startups from UD alums, current students, and other Ohio companies. This is a private equity fund lead and organized by students.

Possible Opportunity with Fairgrounds Expansion is in the process of being revealed to the UD community. UD is partnering with Premier Health on a project that will “build on Dayton’s history of innovation and entrepreneurship.”
A Grant Writing Workshop is hosted annually by the Engineering Dept for students and faculty interested in improving these skills.

Crotty Center Entrepreneurship Mentor Program matches local businesspersons with Entrepreneurship majors and minors at UD. They meet once a month.

The Entrepreneurs Center is a technology accelerator and business incubator for the greater dayton area. This is a non-UD specific resource, but there is high collaboration between the two organizations. Current students a graduates can apply to have access to resources, space, consulting, and advising. The purpose is to accelerate the growth of entrepreneurship in Dayton.
