Silk Road was dominated by Muslim and Italian Merchants

Prince Henry the Navigator (Portugal) began exploring sea routes to Asia by going around Africa.. Used Caravels (faster cargo ships) discovered islands and started the African Slave Trade

Died in 1506

Ferdinand Magellan (Spain) circumnavigated the world in 1522 + Francis Drake (England) in 1580
