  • LSC members vote by picking up a ballot and privacy envelope from the principal.

Next Orientation Session for Partners Interested in learning more about becoming a Local School Council Trainer is on Monday, March 27, 2023 at 6:00pm.

​

You are encouraged to attend the meeting to ensure that potential trainers understand the process and ultimately have an opportunity to provide additional training opportunities for Local School Council members across the City of Chicago.

The 2023-2024 Honorary Student Board Member Application is Now Available

​

Each spring, current sophomores and juniors at Chicago Public Schools have the opportunity to apply to become an Honorary Student Board Member for the following school year. Applicants are considered based on past leadership experience and essays. The individual chosen for the role will gain invaluable leadership experience, receive a $1,000 scholarship toward their college education, and play an important part in shaping the future of the District.

Applications are being accepted from March 13 through April 28, 2023. For additional information on the application and eligibility requirements, please visit cpsboe.org or email studentboardmember@cps.edu.

CPS Accountability Redesign Policy is Now Available for Public Feedback

​

CPS has posted its new draft accountability policy! This policy provides guidelines for measuring school and District performance that promote equity and academic excellence. You have until April 3, 2023, to review the policy and provide feedback HERE (under the April 2023 tab). Your feedback will be considered when the Chicago Board of Education votes on this policy at its April 2023 meeting. An FAQ on the policy is also available in English and Spanish. Please email schoolmeasurement@cps.edu if you have any questions.

  • Governors Disaster Declaration will end on Thursday, May 11, 2023. Therefore on May 12, 2023, ALL LSC meetings should return back to in-person.
  • Continue to fill vacancies - add as a standing agenda item
