DESIGN YOUR VIDEO WORLD

Today you will begin designing your video game world. Please read the guidelines carefully and make sure and follow directions.

  • Your video world MUST BE BASED ON THE SETTING OF THE BOOK. For example, Across the Wide and Lonesome Prairie takes place along the Oregon Trail in 1847. Therefore, if I read that book, my video world would be the Oregon Trail in 1847.Remember your book takes place during a historical time period. Your video world has to use the same historical time period. I should see the setting of your book come to life in your video world.

  • Your video world can have one level with one primary video world setting or you can design several levels with different video world settings (no more than 3 levels please). If you do more than one level, make sure the different video world settings are settings that are present in the book. For example, if I read Saving Zasha, one setting in the book is Mikhail’s house and another setting is a cave that is on the family farm. Therefore, I could have one level of my game be in the house and I could have another level of my game take place in the cave.

  • Draw and COLOR a detailed picture for each level in your game. Take a picture of each level and email to me at jschroeter@gunterisd.org
