Today we will…

Make 4 x A3 works

You will need 4 x A3 paper

On each paper you will write one word. The words are:

12 of 28

Today we will…

Angry Sad Happy  Calm

Today we will…

By using only typography and black ink, make the Word on the paper look like the feeling it stands for.

Do not use pictures or try to make an illustration out of the word. You can use a brush, stick, toothbrush to draw the word. Use cheap copy paper so you can make a lot of mistakes and try different versions.

What should we think about?

  • By using only typography and black ink, make the Word on the paper look like the feeling it stands for.

  • Do not use pictures or try to make an illustration out of the word. (We can do this later)

  • You can use a brush, stick, toothbrush to draw the word.

  • Use cheap copy paper so you can make a lot of mistakes and try different versions.

Point being that by using only typography you can create a feeling/message in a very clever way.

Things that matter are?

-Where on the paper do you place the text.

-Is the text small or big

-What is the “typeface” or the lettering like? Script, bold, black, block letters, a classic clean font…?

-Are the letters the same size and the placement  centered or symmetrical?

-Are the letters splashed all over the paper?
