Safe Boating Starts Here

  • Pleasure Craft Safety Checks for small craft operators
  • Free, quick and confidential
  • During boating safety days at marinas and upon request
  • Ensure boaters know about and carry the necessary safety equipment
  • Boater receives a decal if check is successful
  • Otherwise, we’ll provide advice on how to remedy the deficiencies

Keeping Kids Safe

  • Kids Don’t Float, modeled after Alaska’s program of the same name
  • 100+ lifejacket loaner stations on the coast of BC and in the Shuswap
  • Provides infants, children and youth sizes
  • SSA Marine (formerly Western Group) is our corporate sponsor
  • Supported and endorsed by marinas, police, municipalities and community groups

Making Boating Safety Fun

  • Bobbie the Safety Boat is a remote-controlled robot
  • An interactive way to bring the boating safety message to children and adults alike.
  • Features a siren, flashing lights, moving, blinking eyes and a water squirter
  • Voice modulator headset so Bobbie can talk to kids
  • One based on the island and one on the lower mainland.
  • North Vancouver and Shuswap stations have their own Bobbies.
