Notchview Ultra Course Photos
Parking: Head in parking only on the left side please.
Merch Tables located inside at the Red Building this year.
Start/Finish: Timing Tent will be in front of these boards.
You finish each lap coming across this field. There will be chip timing displayed on a tv in front of the timing tent. There will also be a link with live standings at all time.
Tent Areas: Any mowed grass not spray painted off is available for personal use. Please limit to 10x10’ area
Tent Areas: There is some nice shade down in the back corner of the ski lodge.
Tent Areas (cont.): Nice big area just past the start.
Tent Space (continued): Runners hang a left into the woods. You are allowed to set a tent anywhere the grass is mowed here. Please observe any pin flags and maintain a lane of travel for all runners. We will put pin flags out to maintain a path. You may set up in mowed grass outside the two rows of pin flags. Thanks.
Start of loop (big hill until the .35 mile mark)
About 150’ of elevation gain on the big hill that ends at the .35 mile mark. Great time to finish any food you grabbed on the way out for your loop.
Some exposed roots and small rocks after the hill.
Small bridges throughout to cover drainage ditches
One bridge has been washed out a bit. We will make sure to have extra markings here and possibly glow sticks for night time. Will try to update as we get closer to the event.
As a xc ski loop, there is a wide track, and gorgeous trees.
Mud! If it rains, there will be mud at the .8-.9 mi mark
Notchview vets will remember the monsoon year. Trustees are working hard at adding drainage ditches to help with the increase in rain.
A beautiful part of the course. At night, the stars are ++!
This is at about the 1.1-1.2 mile marker. Due to being on the backside, it sometimes has longer grass. Also a bit rooty on the right side of path and uneven.
The iconic Trela Shelter. On our logo! Hang a right here. Or if you’re tired, pop in for a snooze. Many vets have done that :)
After the shelter, you enter a nice little green space
There is about ½ mile to go per loop from the shelter, including a double hump incline before you get to the final field.
New bridge! Due to washouts from increased rains, the Trustees installed a new bridge at the base of the last incline.
One more little bridge. When you see this building with
Equipment in it, you are done with elevation until the big hill on the next loop! Also a great place at night for stars!
Stone staircase. ¼ mile to go on the loop. Photo op location often used at start of race by race director. Additionally, if you go up the stairs and about 15 feet into the woods, there are two wooden carved dragon heads. Still there as of May, 2025. Worth a look when you’re bored on a lap!
Thread the needle between the buildings, then right in
Front of the pine trees. Head across the field back towards the red building. Finish the loop. Go to the aid station, your tent, and repeat.
