Change Theory

If we expect change, two things have to happen:

  1. Members of the organization need to understand and accept “THE WHY.” THEORY OF ACTION

“If we do this, this will happen, which will result in this.”

  • Members of the organization need to understand exactly what the change means for them (move from abstract to concrete).

Today’s Task

Divide into groups to review the 8 strategies (10 groups total; strategy 1 divided into 3 groups - anti-bias, trauma sensitive, P2).

Review “Notes of Progress” and add any missing milestones.

Review draft Theory of Action Statement if listed. If not listed, suggest language. Brainstorm expectations and/or process to use to define expectations.

Goal for 2020-2023

District Strategic Planning Meeting

May 6, 2020

  • Decide if we want to keep the exact same strategies. Do we want to eliminate or combine any?
  • Share a Theory of Action statement for each current strategy.
  • Begin to identify the concrete expectations under each strategy (or identify a process by which we will develop these expectations).
  • Decide how we will configure Project Leaders for the 2020-2021 school year.
