Who & What is BAP?

  • Beta Alpha Psi (part of The Accounting Society) is an international honors organization for students in Accounting, Finance, and MIS (Management Information Systems)
  • We invite accounting firms, companies, organizations and other accounting societies to visit campus and present business topics & network with all students.
  • BAP: Nu Sigma Chapter (317) was established on May 4th, 2016 at Fairleigh Dickinson University: Silberman College of Business

  • Recognize outstanding academic achievements in the field of accounting, finance, and information systems

  • Promote the study and practice of professional fields related to these disciplines

  • Provide opportunities for self-development and association among members and practicing financial professionals

  • Encourage a sense of ethical, social, and public responsibilities

  • Business casual attire when firms are present

  • Attentiveness is important - NO EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES during firm meetings

Completed all requirements & has been formally inducted

BAP Candidate Eligibility

Matriculated student at FDU that has completed 3 semesters OR 1.5 years of college (for transfer students)

Declared a major in accounting, finance, or MIS

Completed at least one major core class, beyond the business core classes

Overall GPA = 3.2+

(NOTE: For Graduate Students = 3.0+)

BAP Candidate Requirements

Attendance is required at:

  • 10 professional meetings
  • Community service event
  • Induction meeting

Complete:

  • 4 hours of tutoring per semester

OR

  • 8 hours of tutoring in the school year

Submit:

  • Candidacy Application
  • $100 application fee

($75 one-time membership fee + $25 annual fee)

    • Attendance is required at:
      • 80% of professional meetings
      • Half of the community service and fundraising events
      • Year-End Induction

    • 8 hours of tutoring services in the school year

    • $25 annual fee

Achievements/Recognitions

  1. Achieved Gold (Superior) Chapter Status for the 1st time in the 8-Year History of Nu Sigma Chapter.
  2. Attended BAP Mid-Year Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana.
  3. One of our members were accepted to compete in the Project Run With It Competition and the Chapter Operations Competition at the 2024 BAP Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL in July 2024.
  4. Some of our members competed in the 2023 Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge in October 2023.
  5. Some of our members attended Quinnipiac GAME Forum XIII in March 2024.
  6. Created our very own website and TikTok Account.

  1. Bringing Back Accounting Society as an Active Club (Bi-Monthly Meetings)
  2. Competing in Competitions (KPMG Platinum Challenge, Best Practices Competition, etc)
  3. Creating Candidate Manual and Checklist.
  4. Creating Member Manual
  5. Creating BAP AI Chatbot
  6. Creating BAP Nu Sigma Chapter Tutor GPT Bot during outside regular tutoring hours.
